After the death

When the concept of flourishing is given to an individual, it cannot be given as a mere definition, like the happy ending of a fairy tale, but to a human being, it should be taken as a verb, a process of constant upward mobility. The difficulty, illness, and even death are not the opposite of flourishing, let alone the end of flourishing.

In Chinese culture, death is not the end of life but a step towards another stage of life. Burning paper money is a bridge between the two worlds, not only to send a message to the deceased but also to build up for one's future after death and to prepare for a future that will enter another world. Death is not the end; rather, the process of moving on and striving is the essence of flourishing.
